“Stay close to anything that makes you feel you are alive.”

Well, hello there and welcome to Bleckley House Gifts! I wish that I could say that to you in person, but due to current circumstances (of pandemic proportions), we’ll have to start here.

This is me.

First, let me introduce myself.

My name is Christina, and I have a few confessions to make:

Confession #1: I love to talk.

Confession #2: I love to shop.

Confession #3: I love to help.

After trying out several different jobs and one amazing career (believe it or not, I taught middle school for seven years!), I have arrived at the conclusion that I am happiest when I’m working in a field that combines all of the above – retail!

What I think I look like when I’m shopping.

Having worked in various stores (large and small) off and on for several years, I know that sometimes shopping can feel impersonal, like you are just being tricked into buying something “trendy” that won’t last more than a few months until it’s thrown away. So, I want you to experience something very different when you visit my shop. I want you to feel like you’re a part of something exciting, new, and different. I want you to have an exceptional time shopping with me, and I hope that you find the highest quality, unique gifts that will delight your loved ones.

I honestly get so excited when I’m searching for merchandise to offer you, that I can barely control myself. My husband, Sloan, is very good at listening to me banter away about this perfect smelling candle I found, or these hand towels that don’t smell weird when you unpack them from the shipping box (more on that later). I’m for real obsessed with NICE things, rather than CHEAP things. From experience, I know that you get what you pay for, and I’m getting only the good stuff for you!

I truly believe that no matter what is going on in the world around us, we CAN surround ourselves and our loved ones with BEAUTIFUL, well made objects, and can do so without sacrificing our values. Some things I consider to be crucial to a good experience when I’m shopping (and, therefore, when YOU are shopping)…

Honesty: I promise to be honest about my products. Where they come from, who made them, what they’re made of, and even how they smell when they come out of the shipping box!

Loyalty: I will always put you first, my friend. If you’re not satisfied, I’m not satisfied.

Quality: I am making a commitment to quality. After all, you want to be sure that you keep that reputation of giving the BEST gifts, right?!

Dependability: I will be dependable. Please reach out if you can’t find something you’re looking for. I will do my very best to help answer questions or find that thing!

Positivity: I promise to stay positive in the face of challenges. I like to think that where there’s a will, there’s a way!

That’s why I’ve listed these values on my “About” page. I want you to know that I created this store just for you, based on all of my past experiences both working in stores and shopping in stores. I promise to do my best to provide the easiest, most enjoyable shopping experience for you, as well as some surprisingly cool finds along the way!

I am looking forward to meeting you soon! Here’s hoping that it will be sooner rather than later, but in the meantime, please check out the shop. I have curated only the best products made by the best people, and did my best to find things you won’t find on Amazon, that are (mostly) made here in the USA, by people who have some pretty darn cool ideas. Seriously, the innovation out there in the world is truly mesmerizing, and I want to bring it straight to you!

Additionally, I hope you’ll join the Bleckley House Gifts community through Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, or here on the website. Whatever floats your boat, as they say. I am all about celebrating, and especially celebrating the things YOU are up to, whether it’s getting a new job, having a baby, or something as small as getting all the laundry done without accidentally dyeing your favorite pjs a weird gray color (been there, done that). I also hope I just spelled “dyeing” correctly.

Last but definitely not least,  please check out my “Giving Back” page. This is a list of those charitable organizations that are nearest and dearest to me, and to which I donate proceeds from your purchases. I look forward to building strong relationships with these organizations as Bleckley House Gifts grows. It is so important to me that while building my own business, I am also giving back to the communities, country, and world in which I live. Call it idealism, but being a good citizen and steward of what I’ve been given is forefront to success, in my (humble) opinion.

I sincerely wish you all the best, and hope that you will enjoy everything about my little shop here on the big internet… I know you have choices, and I will strive to be the best one you can make!

With love,
